Its box-quilted lining and 6oz waxed cotton outer provide substantial warmth, making it a reliable choice for cold, damp winter days without needing extra layers.
How does the Modern Heritage Beaufort fit?
This jacket is cut to a Regular Fit, which sits between the very baggy "Classic Fit" and the tight "Slim Fit." It is designed to look sharp and structured while still allowing room for a light sweater or shirt underneath.
Does it have the famous "Game Pocket" at the back?
Yes. Staying true to its shooting heritage, this model includes the large rear bellows pocket (often called a game pocket). While originally for hunting, it is now widely used for carrying maps, gloves, or even a tablet/laptop while on the move.
Is this jacket waterproof?
The 6oz waxed cotton outer is highly water-resistant and windproof. It will easily handle heavy rain showers and harsh winds. However, like all waxed garments, it is not "waterproof" in the technical sense (like GORE-TEX) because the seams are not taped.
How do I clean and maintain the jacket?
Daily Care: Only use a sponge with cold water to wipe away dirt.
Warning: Never machine wash, dry clean, or use detergent. These will permanently damage the wax coating.
Annual Care: To maintain its weatherproofing, you should re-wax the jacket once a year using Barbour Thornproof Dressing.
